Pearl Mae McConnell was born April 23, 1927 to George and Mae Weemes in Pershing, Oklahoma and what a lucky day it was for us, because she would be our wonderful mom.

She married her childhood sweetheart Grady McConnell, June 14, 1945. They had some great adventures moving around, but came to California in 1952. In 1953 they came to McKinleyville, built a house and raised their children.

She lost her sweetheart in 1990 when he went home to be with the Lord. On May 6, 2018 she made that same journey, leaving behind her loving children, David (Lenora), Bobby (Glennell), Alicia Guffie (John), Tina Thompson (Tooter), her precious grandchildren, Lora Lemons, Jason Childress, Davy McConnell, Kris Harris, Juanita McConnell, Brad McConnell, Teah Distefano, Larren McConnell, Coby McConnell, and Jared Thompson, her special grandson-in-law Lou Lemons and 18 great-grandchildren.

She became everyone’s “grannie” and will be missed by all.

There will be a celebration of her life on May 25, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the McKinleyville Baptist Church, 1616 Windsor Ave., McKinleyville.
