Milburn Leroy Standridge was born on Jan 31, 1932 in Merced and fell asleep in death on May 6, 2018 in Eureka at 86 years of age. He had lived in Eureka since 1968. Before that he lived in Turlock and the Medford, Oregon areas.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Anna (Sandquist) Standridge, his sisters Margaret & Anna Mae Standridge, Ellen Rosner and brothers Bill Jr. & Arthur Standridge, his beloved wife of 54 years Laura Jean (Avery) Standridge and oldest son Michael Leroy Standridge.

He is survived by his sister Nancy (Glen) Hermans & their children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren; his brother Alfred Standridge his children & grandchildren; his children Leana Jean Velasco & her son Kristopher (Crystal) Velasco, Dale Leslie (Connie) Standridge & their daughter Amy (Benji) Sandoval; and son David Standridge; Lisa Joy (Curtis) Cooper & their daughters Harmorisa & Rachel; Kerry Brent (Sherri) Standridge & their son Kevin (Jessica) Standridge & their son Noah and daughter Kenzie, their daughters JuliAnn (Jared) Schmidt & Katie Standridge; also many nephews, nieces & friends.

Leroy was known for being a devout Jehovah’s Witness and greatly enjoyed sharing his faith with others. He loved music, singing & playing the guitar. He had a beautiful singing voice and his wife, children and others joined along. He always loved the challenge of learning the new songs from the songbooks published by Watchtower, Bible & Tract Society. One of his recent favorites was “Just Around The Corner” which he would join in singing with his sister Nancy & others. Some of his other longtime favorites were “Buttermilk Sky” “And I Love You So.” Music was important to him right up to the end. 
He was a loving husband and father and home life was pretty happy. It was common for us to have a house full of friends over on the weekends. He loved to take the whole family including Nana and Papa to the stock car races In Medford and camping in in Applegate.

A memorial service will be held Saturday May 19th at 2 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 4511 Campton Road Eureka, CA 95503.
