Robert Irving (Bob) Chambers was born on July 4, 1938 and passed away on May 15, 2018 with his family by his side.
Bob spent his early years growing up in the Mattole Valley. He graduated from Ferndale High School in 1956.
Bob married Gloria Matyshock, his companion of 60 years. Together they raised two daughters, Robyn Chambers and Kim Robertson. Together they built Chambers Logging, which was founded in 1958 and still operating today.
Bob is a true legend in the timber industry. He was awarded “Logger of The Year” in 2017. Bob Chambers lived a life doing what he loved. He had great passion for the past, present, and future, of the timber industry.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Gloria Chambers; daughters, Robyn Chambers, Kim Chambers Robertson; grandchildren, Devin Chambers, Dustin and Elysia Ciarabellini; and great-granddaughter, Christina Ciarabellini; sister Mary Lou Morgan, also numerous nieces and nephews; special friends and longtime employees Bill Little and Victor Brovelli. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Helena Chambers; his sister Danya (Skeeter) Brown; and niece Terry.
A public celebration of his life will be held on June 17, 2018 at 12 o’clock at the River Lodge in Fortuna.
