Cal Fire announced Tuesday morning that fire crews had contained the Green Hill Fire located east of Blue Lake off Highway 299. They estimate that the vegetation fire, one of several that popped up yesterday evening, had burned roughly 10 acres but were in the process remapping to get a better idea of its size.
At this morning’s Humboldt County Board of Supervisors meeting Humboldt County Fire Chiefs Association President Justin McDonald gave a brief update on the investigation into the fire’s cause.
“I believe it was somebody dragging chains,” he said.
