Press release from Humboldt Bay Fire

On November 5th, 2018 @ 0045 hrs Humboldt Bay Fire responded with 2 engines, 1 truck, 1 squad and 2 chief officers to a reported Structure Fire to the rear of 411 W. Harris St. The first arriving engine reported a single story, residential structure fully involved with fire in alley to the rear of 411 W. Harris St.

Due to the threat of the fire spreading to neighboring businesses a commercial 2nd alarm was requested. The fire was controlled in 30 minutes and the commercial 2nd alarm was cancelled. Damage was limited to the original fire building with an estimated loss of $100,000. Humboldt Bay Fire remained on scene for an additional 2 hours and the cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no Firefighter or Civilian injuries.
