Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018. She was 94 years old.

She was born in Ohio to Edward G. Blumer and Marguerite M. Blumer. After a move to New York City and then back to Ohio, the family finally settled in southern California in 1937, where she graduated from Eagle Rock High School in 1941. She worked as a sales person, waitress and cashier before going to work for Lockheed during WWII in the tool crib department. After working her shift, she often went dancing and ice skating with the hope of trying out for the Ice Follies. What fun she must have had!

At the end of the war one soldier in particular caught her eye. She met Orville J. Cote’ and they married in 1946. They were together for nearly 52 years. They had ten children.

Mom was very active in all of her children’s activities. She volunteered at Sacred Heart Church visiting the homebound with communion and prayers. She was also active with the Sacred Heart Women’s Club and the Catholic Daughters. She loved traveling, playing any kind of cards and when she could coax dad, square dancing. She eventually began her Tupperware career and didn’t give it up until well into her 80s.

Mom was preceded in death by husband Orville, sons Richard and Tom Cote’ and daughter Jean Stoller. She is survived by daughters Carolyn Miller, Joan Rinne (Merv), Colleen Carter (Robert), Christine Micheli (Jeff) and sons Martin, Mark and Tracy Cote’; grandchildren Christopher Miller, Nicole Zanni, Ryan Rinne, Ashley Rinne, Stacey Robbins, Jeff Schroeder, Teresa Cote’, Jeremy Cote’, Brittany Mayo Cote’, Ciera Cote’, Nicholas Micheli, Gavin Micheli, Garrett Micheli, Mike Stoller, John Stoller, Melinda Walker, Jimmy Stoller, Sarah Stoller, Emily Glaser and 22 great-grandchildren, with twins due in 2019.

The family would like to thank caregiver Leona Smith, Frye’s Care Home and Hospice.of Humboldt for their loving care and support. Visitation and Rosary will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sanders Funeral Home, 1835 E Street, Eureka. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 with a mass at Sacred Heart Church at 3 p.m. and reception immediately following at the Eureka Women’s Club, 1531 J Street, Eureka.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Humboldt, 3327 Timber Fall Court, Eureka, CA 95503 or Sacred Heart Church, 2085 Myrtle Ave., Eureka, CA 95501.

We love and miss you, Mom, but are happy to know you are dancing with all the angels in heaven.
