On 11/09/18 at approximately 2:08 a.m. Arcata Police Department officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 800 Block of J Street in Arcata. Upon their arrival, officers located a 22-year-old male that had been stabbed during an altercation. Officers learned the victim and his friend had been skateboarding with three other men they had just met. For undetermined reasons, a physical fight occurred between the men, resulting in one man being stabbed. The suspect immediately fled the area.

The victim was transported to Mad River Community Hospital where he received treatment for a non-life-threatening stab wound. 

The suspect is described as a white male in his twenties wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Arcata Police Department at 822-2428.

Original Post: The Arcata Police Department is investigating an assault that occurred two blocks from the Arcata Plaza early this morning. 

APD Lt. Todd Dokweiler told the Outpost that officers were called to an altercation on the 700 block of J Street just after 2 a.m. When they arrived they learned that a 22-year-old male subject from Eureka had been stabbed. He was taken to Mad River Hospital and treated for non-fatal injuries.

After being stabbed, the victim knocked on the door of a nearby residence seeking help, an Outpost reader familiar with the situation told us. The residents of the house brought the victim inside and called 911. 

APD was unable to locate a suspect at the scene.

The suspect is described as a white male adult. He was last seen leaving the scene on a skateboard. Anyone with information should contact APD at 822-2428.
