Humboldt County Drug Task Force release:
On October 10, 2018, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Special Agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force, served a search warrant at a residence located in the 2100 block of Union Street, Eureka. In addition to numerous complaints of suspected drug activity at this residence, agents previously received information that Frederick Lynn Fields, Jr. (age 33) was involved in narcotics distribution and could possibly be armed.
Upon arrival, agents observed Fields exit his residence and reach into a parked car. Upon law enforcement contact, Fields drew a handgun from his person and threw it into the front yard of his residence. Fields is a previously convicted felon and was subsequently arrested for weapons violations. Agents recovered the firearm, and through their investigation, determined the firearm was stolen from Southern California. Agents searched Fields’ residence and located additional ammunition, scales, and narcotics packaging materials.
Fields was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked on felon in possession of a stolen firearm.
