Helicopter 506 at the Trinity Helibase. | STNFS
A vegetation fire being called the “Hawkins Fire” is reportedly burning near the Hawkins Bar area, 10 miles east of Willow Creek on Highway 299.
The Shasta-Trinity National Forest Service reports on Twitter that fire attack helicopter 506 has been dispatched to the scene.
According to the Tweet, Six Rivers National Forest crews are also fighting the fire.
Very little information — including the size and cause of the fire — is known at this time.
