Jeffrey Frederick Happ
July 19, 1956 - Sept. 30, 2018

Jeffrey was a native of Humboldt County born in Eureka July 19, 1956. He was a lifelong resident of Fortuna and grew up and lived in his family home in Rohnerville. Jeff attended Fortuna High School and graduated in 1974.

After graduation Jeff worked for Clyde’s Towing . He then worked for Big Loaf Bakeries in Eureka as a mechanic and truck driver and would make trips down to the “city” to pick up supplies for Big Loaf. He left Big Loaf to work for Wendt Construction as a mechanic and truck driver for approximately 13 years until he quit working due to health issues.

Jeff was a very generous and caring person and became an adopted family member to a few families in Fortuna, spending holidays, weddings and birthdays with them. He made many lifelong friends.

Jeff was a longtime member of the Campton Heights Baptist Church, Fortuna Fire Department, member of the Native Sons of the Golden West, and member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation where he was a legacy partner. He liked to volunteer and could be seen helping at many events.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his sister Julie Ann Smith, his mother Catherine A Taylor and his father Stanley Frederick Happ.

He is survived by his cousins Mary Ellen Oyama, Mickie Wolfing and Mickie’s children Elizabeth, Adam, Paul and Rebecca.

There will be a service honoring Jeffrey, Saturday, 11:00 a.m. October 27, 2018 at the Campton Heights Baptist Church, 1655 Cecil Avenue, Fortuna Ca. 95540.
