Karen Kay Roberts
Devoted daughter, mother and extraordinary human being

Karen Kay Roberts, born May 30, 1942, lost a courageous battle to cancer at the age of 76 on Oct. 20, 2018 while surrounded by her loving family. Karen was a loving mother, a caring sister and an extremely loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Karen was also the sweetest and kindest friend; she had many friends and made friends everywhere she went.

Karen loved family get-togethers, NASCAR, tribal functions, stock car racing, bingo, needle canvasing, playing Yahtzee, puzzle books, reading and decorating her house for all holidays. She also loved to volunteer her time at her tribal community center, Tish Non.

She will be laid to rest on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Sunrise Cemetery in Fortuna. A Celebration of Life Potluck will follow at Bear River Tish Non Community Center at 1 p.m.

Karen is survived by her mother, Evelyn Horn; three sisters, Judy, Crystal and Ardith; four daughters, Diane, Patty, Leanne and Mona; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Karen was preceded in death by her father, Orlo “Skilo” Horn; her sisters Ardie, Linda, Dolores and Beverly; and her life long partner, Vern Stevens.

A special thanks to Karen’s beloved tribe, Bear River Band of the Rohnerville Rancheria, for all the love and support they have given the family during this difficult time.
