Brandon J. Brocious, 16, of Eureka, died August 9, 2018 due to a violent crime. He was born and raised in Humboldt County and grew up exploring the many wonders of his beloved homeland.

Brandon was kind and known to be a compassionate and loyal friend. He was always looking out for the people in Eureka that he felt no one else cared about, even at the cost of his own safety. Brandon’s bright smile and soft heart made him friends wherever he went and with people and animals from all walks of life. He was a protective big brother of his little sister who he taught to play basketball, and a friend and companion to his older siblings, most of the time.

Brandon is dearly loved and survived by his father Chip (Coleen), mother Cyanne (David), siblings Seinna, Calyb, Tyler, and Alora, grandparents Donna (Ronald) and John, and grandma Cheryl, best friend Jared, and many caring relatives, friends and teachers. Preceded in death by his great grandmother Anne, grandfathers Bill and Ken, and his young friends D and M.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Wharfinger Building in the Great Room on September 15, 2018 from 1:30 to 3:30 PM. All are welcome to come and share in fun memories to celebrate Brandon’s life and enjoy his favorite deserts and fruit. There will be a memory table to leave pictures, objects, or written memories for the family.

The family wishes to thank the many family, friends, and community members that have reached out to support them in their time of loss and grief.  In addition, the family would like to thank the Eureka Police Department for their quick actions in detaining the homicide suspects and Ayers Family Cremation for their professionalism and kindness.
