By Ray Hamill — The season just keeps getting better for former Fortuna High standout Jenna Christensen, who this week was named Kanas Collegiate Athletic Conference softball player of the week for the second time this year.
Christensen, a starting catcher for McPherson College, hit .417 over four games last week, including three home runs.
The sophomore hit two home runs in a single game against Bethel College on Sunday, including a walk-off bomb.
Christensen, who had 10 RBIs over the four games, hit yet another home run in a doubleheader on Tuesday of this week, giving her eight on the year.
The McPherson Bulldogs, an NAIA program, are 18-13 on the year.
For the season, Christensen is hitting .364 with 35 RBIs.
Christensen’s former Fortuna teammate Hailey Dolcini also continues to star for Fresno State.
The sophomore pitcher tossed a one-hit shutout against Sacramento State on Wednesday in a 4-0 win.
Dolcini struck out seven in the complete-game performance and has now allowed two or less hits in five of her past seven appearances.
For the season, Dolcini is 11-5 with an ERA of 2.27.
