Submitted photo – The Humboldt Roller Derby will be back in action this weekend.

Humboldt Roller Derby will carry some momentum into this weekend’s fourth event of the season at the Redwood Acres.

The club’s charter team, the Redwood Rollers, won all three matches at the recent Dust Devil Tournament in Tucson, Arizona, as well as defeating the Oakland Outlaws in their last home match.

And the recent success has not gone unnoticed, with the HRD climbing the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) national rankings, jumping from 111 to 103.

On Saturday, the club will host back-to-back games, a warm-up bout between the club’s B team and a team from the Sonoma County Roller Derby, followed by a showdown between the Rollers and the Sacramento Roller Derby.

This will be the last event before the club’s summer break.

The action gets under way at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5 p.m.

The event will also feature a fundraiser, with a portion of the gate going to Wild Souls Ranch, an equine therapy non-profit organization.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door, with kids under 10 free.

Find tickets in advance at Wildberries, The Works, STIL and People’s Records, or at brownpapertickets.com.
