Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:

On April 16, 2019, at about 9 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 400 block of Lake Benbow Drive for the report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, deputies learned that four victims had arranged to meet with a female subject in the area to complete a vehicle transaction. One victim arrived to the location with the vehicle prior to his associates and met with the female and a male subject. Shortly after, two additional male suspects associated with the subjects arrived on scene. A disagreement between the suspects and the victim occurred and the suspects left the scene in a silver Toyota Tacoma.

Moments later, as the victim’s three associates were arriving to the location, the Toyota Tacoma struck the three associate’s vehicle, pushing it off the roadway. One suspect exited the Tacoma and fired several shots at the vehicle. The suspect then attempted to gain entry into the vehicle. The suspect was unable to get inside of the vehicle and fled the scene in the Tacoma. The three victims were not injured during the shooting. The additional female and male subject also left the area prior to deputy arrival.

This incident is still under investigation. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office is looking for information regarding the suspects and the incident.

Suspect one, who is believed to have conducted the shooting, is described as a white male adult, approximately 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a thin build and a short black goatee, wearing a camouflage jacket.

Suspect two is described only as a white male adult.

The vehicle associate with these two suspects is described as a single-cab silver Toyota Tacoma, possibly late 90’s model, with a CB style antenna on the roof.

The female subject associated with the suspects is described as a white female adult, approximately 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with brown hair, wearing a grey long sleeve shirt. The female subject possibly goes by the name “Belinda”.

The third male subject, associated with the female and suspects, is described as a white male adult in his 40’s, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing a blue jacket.

The female and male subjects are believed to be associated with a dark colored, older model Honda vehicle, resembling that of a Honda Element or Nissan Cube.
