The Corsairs seem to like playing Shasta.

They also seem to be getting hot just as the season is about to end.

On Saturday, Redwoods baseball won its third straight game, 7-6 at home to Shasta, giving the Corsairs the season series against the visitors.

Their three wins over the past seven days have doubled the CR men’s season win total and sees them improve to 6-28.

With just two games remaining on the schedule, the Corsairs are closing out strong.

Luis Pimentel got the win on the mound, allowing three earned runs on seven hits in six innings, while striking out seven.

Logan Thrap pitched 1.2 innings in relief to get the save.

At the plate, Kyle Cabanas and James Garcia each finished 3-for-5 with a double to lead the way, with Cabanas also driving in a run.

Hokeem Sadon also had a big day, finishing 2-for-5 with a pair of RBIs, while JB Lewis, Angelo Flores and Andrew Enwiya each also had two hits, including a double by Lewis.

The Corsairs, 4-19 in the Golden Valley Conference, close out at Lassen on Wednesday.
