Eureka Police Department press release:

On April 22, 2019 at about 11:10 a.m., an officer with the Eureka Police Department’s Community Safety Enhancement Team (CSET) contacted two male subjects while conducting a routine patrol check in an alley on the 1600 block of 4th Street.

The two males were in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia in plain view and one was highly intoxicated.

The males were identified as Joshua Allen Repp (37 of Eureka) and John Paul Gilbert (61 of Eureka). Repp and Gilbert were arrested and transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility (HCCF).

During the booking process at HCCF, Repp was found to be concealing 48 grams of heroin on his person. Repp was booked for sales and distribution of heroin, knowingly bringing an illicit substance into a correctional facility, possession of drug paraphernalia, and probation violations. Gilbert was booked for public intoxication, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
