Wendy Meeks passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones on Sunday April 21, 2019 in Eureka.
She was born in Red Bluff. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Terry, her children, Tori, Michael, Melissa, her daughter-in-law Charae and her granddaughter Spencer. She is preceded by her son, Troy, and her father, Ian Evans.
She proudly served in the Marine Corps. She retired from Humboldt County Public Works as a dispatcher for County Roads Department. She appreciated the many great friendships she formed while working with the county, and she enjoyed the friendly banter over the radio.
Her resilience, loving heart and compassionate ears will be missed by many. She was the life of the party when she was with her friends and family, especially when tequila was involved. She considered her friends as part of her family. She loved spending time with the children in her life, she was so excited when she found out she was going to be a grandma. She loved being a grandmother. It was one of her favorite titles. Spencer brought her so much joy.
Special thanks to friends and family who traveled great distances to spend time with her in her final days. The family would also like to thank the doctors at Stanford Hospital for their excellent and friendly care.

Strong winds and following seas. Semper Fidelis.
