Chance Olson and the Eureka High boys golf team capped an impressive spring with another big showing at the final round of the regular season at Redwood Golf and Country Club in Fortuna on Monday.

Olson shot an 81 for the second best score of the day, which was more than enough to seal the individual season title after coming into the day with a 14-stroke lead over teammate Garrett McKenzie.

McKenzie paced the field with a 79, and secured second overall on the season.

Matt Dusi made it a top-three sweep for Eureka both on the day and for the season.

Dusi, who missed the first two rounds of the H-DNL with a broken hand, stormed back into contention late in the season.

He shot an 83 on Monday for third best score of the day, and finished third on the season, 12 strokes back of McKenzie.

The top seven individuals for the season each received all-league honors, with Arcata’s Jack Baca placing fourth, followed by Eureka’s Hunter Blevins, Arcata’s Kyle Plumley and McKinleyville’s AJ Stubbs.

As a team, Eureka comfortably won the season title with a 2315 total, well ahead of Arcata and McKinleyville, who remarkably tied for second with a 2596 total.

The Tigers shot a 363 team total on Monday, overcoming a 16-stroke deficit on the final day of action.

Both Mack and Arcata will apply for an at-large North Coast Section berth, hoping to join Eureka which gets the automatic H-DNL team berth.

Individually, the Eureka golfers all qualify, along with the next four best individuals, who are Plumley, Baca, Stubbs and Freddie Sundberg III.

Sundberg III was fourth overall on Monday with an 86.
