If you somehow missed the recent brouhaha in the (very, very early stages of the) race for Humboldt County Supervisor in the First District, we’ll do our best to summarize events in one sentence:

After an Outpost investigation detailing allegations of fraud, embezzlement and perjury by candidate Allen McCloskey, he and some supporters came out swinging at incumbent Supervisor Rex Bohn, saying he was recently overheard making a racist joke at a fundraiser and should apologize or resign.

In an interview with the Outpost Bohn didn’t do either one, exactly, but this afternoon he did post a statement on Facebook regarding his “admittedly inappropriate poor taste in a joke.”

As of the time of this post, he has received nothing but love and support in response.
