Fresno State Athletics – Former Fortuna star Hailey Dolcini was named Mountain West Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday for the second time this season.

Former Fortuna teammates Hailey Dolcini and Jenna Christensen are each coming off big performances at the college level this past week

Dolcini, a sophomore at Fresno State, was named Mountain West Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season, while Christensen hit her fifth home run of the season for McPherson College in Kansas.

Christensen hit the homer in a 9-0 win over Tabor College, finishing the game 1-for-3 with three RBIs.

For the season, the sophomore catcher is batting an impressive .329 for the 16-13 Bulldogs, with team-highs in home runs, doubles (eight) and RBIs (24).

McPherson is an NAIA school.

Dolcini, meanwhile, helped her Bulldogs to a 6-0 record at the Fresno State Invitational last weekend, earning her the conference honor.

McPherson College Athletics – Jenna Christensen is enjoying a stellar season with the Bulldogs.

She also was named MW pitcher of the week in her first week playing for Fresno after transferring from UC Riverside, where she played as a freshman.

In four appearances at last week’s tournament, Dolcini was 3-0 with an ERA of 0.84 and a .158 opposing batting average in 16.2 innings work.

She had 19 strikeouts and two walks, allowing just nine hits and two runs total.

She did not allow a run in three of her four appearances, while also recording her second save of the season.

For the season, Dolcini is 10-5 with an ERA of 2.45.

Both Dolcini and Christensen graduated Fortuna in 2017.

Dolcini and the Bulldogs lost 7-0 on Friday to UNLV.
