Joyce Lorraine Dias, 83, passed away on March 17, 2019 at Seaview Rehabilitation and Wellness Center.

She was born at Humboldt County Hospital in Eureka on April 28, 1935. She attended Scotia Elementary School and was raised in Scotia and Rio Dell by her parents: E. Jane Dias and Alfred R. Dias ~ a logger with the Pacific Lumber Company. In 1955 Joyce graduated from Fortuna High School and started her career of service for others.

Joyce was employed for over 30 years with Mad River Community Hospital as a Nurse’s Aid and retired in March 2007. Many families are grateful to Joyce for the time and selfless commitment she provided for their quality care.

Joyce most loved her family and enjoyed the many family get-togethers. She is survived by her niece: Esther Hahn and nephews: Butch and Tim Dias of Fortuna. Joyce also has two great-nephews: Tyson and Tanner Dias and three great-niece’s: Amanda and Natalie Hahn and Rachel Dias. She was predeceased by her brother Alfred R. Dias also of Fortuna.

Burial took place at Ocean View Cemetery, Prayer garden in Eureka.
