Perhaps a dozen Eureka police officers are serving a search warrant at a high-profile location on the 100 block of Henderson Street this afternoon, just down the block from St. Bernard’s.
Several people have been detained.
Brittany Powell, the Eureka Police Department’s public information officer, tells the Outpost that police have obtained a search warrant to investigate possible illegal activity at a home on the block. The city’s Code Enforcement Unit is at the scene as well.
Capt. Brian Stephens tells the Outpost at the scene that the department has detained seven people in all at the “nuisance home,” and is still currently conducting interviews with them. He said that police showed out in force this afternoon as they had expected to find many people at the house.
We’ll update when we know more.
