Nicky Alan Nolan was born in Hoopa California on January 25, 1952, to Tom and Belle Nolan. He passed away due to complications from pneumonia after a long fought battle with cancer on July 11, 2019 surrounded by his family.

Nicky grew up in Arcata, the fourth child of five siblings, where he attended elementary and high school. He spent summers traveling to Minnesota with his family to visit relatives on their family farm.

After graduating high school in 1970 Nicky joined the Navy where he traveled the world for four years but his heart was always here in Humboldt County with his family.  After returning home from the Navy he worked for Humboldt Machine Works as a machinist, and also in many different jobs in the timber industry.

His greatest joy was spending time with his family and his dogs. Nicky never married or had children but his dogs were like his kids, they went everywhere with him.

Nicky had the biggest heart and was always willing to help anyone in need, he would give you the shirt off his back or his last dollar if he thought you needed it.

Nicky was proceeded in death by his parents Tom and Belle Nolan, sister in law Christina (Pacheco) Nolan, and his beloved dogs Brownie, Ruffy, and Lady.

He is survived by his brothers Tommy Nolan, Jerry Nolan (Connie), and sisters Cathy Bjorkstrand (Paul), Patsy King (Dan). And many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
