The Blue Lake Volunteer Fire Department is asking the public for donations to help aid rescuers searching for Blue Lake Man Daniel Komins, who went missing last week while hiking the Trinity Alps.

The department shared a list of basic items on Facebook that anyone can drop off at the BVFD station located at 111 1st Ave. in Blue Lake. 

Firefighters will be at the station receiving donations until at least 2 p.m. Read more from the BVFD below:

  • Sunblock Benadryl
  • Neosporin 
  • Bug repellent 
  • MRE’s 
  • Freeze dried food
  • Hot chocolate packets
  • Instant coffee packets 
  • Instant oatmeal packets
  • Emergen-C drink packets
  • Cases of water and/or Gatorade 
  • Energy bars
