Humboldt County Drug Task Force press release:
On July 31 st , 2019, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Special Agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force, with the assistance of a narcotic detection K9 from the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office, conducted a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Anna Sparks Way, McKinleyville. During their multi-week investigation, agents received information that the driver of the vehicle, Manuel Alejandro Pacheco- Quijada (age 30 from Sonora, Mexico), is distributing heroin throughout Humboldt County.
Inside of Pacheco-Quijada’s vehicle agents observed suspected heroin in plain view. The narcotics detection K9 was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics within the vehicle. Agents searched the vehicle and located approximately 10 ounces of heroin packaged for sales. In addition, agents located over $3,000 in US currency that is believed to be profits from illegal narcotics sales. This currency was seized and will be held pending asset forfeiture proceedings.
Pacheco-Quijada was subsequently placed under arrest and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for possession and transportation of controlled substances.
Agents obtained a 1275 PC hold on Pacheco-Quijada until a source of legitimate bail funds could be examined during a court hearing.
