On August 5, 2019 at approximately 4:34 PM, the Trinity County Dispatch Center received a 911 call, indicating that a female subject had been assaulted near the area of Weaver Street in Weaverville. The suspect in the matter had reportedly utilized a sword during the altercation.

Multiple units were dispatched to the area. Once on scene, they detained a female subject identified as Rae Haines of Weaverville.

After the detention of Haines, the victim in the matter was transported by ambulance to a local area hospital, where she was treated for several lacerations and later released.

During the investigation, numerous witnesses were identified, all of which indicated that Haines had struck the victim multiple times with a large sword. The sword was recovered from the scene.

During an interview with Haines, she admitted to having struck the victim multiple times with a sword. Haines also admitted to having manufactured several incendiary devices, which had been seized weeks prior and had remained part of an ongoing investigation. Haines was placed under arrest and transported to the Trinity County Jail.

  • 53- Manufacture an Incendiary Device
