Larry Lassiter

On 12/10/2019, at approximately 6:50 am, CHP officers were dispatched to a vehicle vs pedestrian collision. During the investigation of the collision, it was determined that Larry Lassiter drove his Dodge van into a parking lot on the corner of Redway Drive and Empire Ave. where he intentionally struck the female victim as she was walking from a vehicle. Lassiter then fled the scene and was located a short time later in the involved vehicle on Redwood Drive north of Willow Ave. Lassiter was ultimately arrested for driving while under the influence of a drug and assault with a deadly weapon. Lassiter was in possession of approximately 295 lbs. of marijuana leaves at the time he was contacted. Lassiter was taken to the Humboldt County Jail where he was booked for the aforementioned charges. 

The female victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident. This incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
