The College of the Redwoods men’s basketball team made it seven straight wins on Friday night, although they had to work a little harder for this one.

The Corsairs defeated Napa Valley College 94-88 in overtime at the Kris Kringle tournament in Santa Rosa and advanced to Saturday’s championship game, where they will play either Los Medanos or the host school at 8 p.m.

CR trailed by five points with just 15 seconds remaining in regulation, but battled back to force OT.

They also trailed by four in overtime before battling back to win for the second straight night at the tournament.

Zac Claus led a balanced team-high with 21 points, while teammate Isaac Puzz finished with a season-high 18 points.

Thomas Nelson and Donald Willis each had 17 points and Drew Gillette finished with 13.

The Corsairs were short-handed with AJ Stubbs out missing (illness) and Bradley Willis forced out of the early through injury.

The red-hot CR men are now 12-3 on the season.
