Kathleen Guthrie Martin, born Nov. 23, 1942 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, died Dec. 7, 2019 at our home in Arcata.

Kathy was a long time Humboldt County resident, first arriving in 1962 with her husband Fred soon after their marriage. She had seven children and many grandchildren but still had time for an abundant career. Among her many accomplishments, she attended Humboldt State, earning a Master’s Degree in Psychology and eventually becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. It led her to a very rewarding career with the Veterans Administration during which she helped many veterans and their families.

After a long illness Kathy passed peacefully amidst family and friends as she wished. She touched the lives of many with kindness. Our grateful thanks to all who offer prayers in her memory. She is greatly missed. A memorial will be held later.
