Bill Von Brock was born November 13, 1940. He passed away December
16, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was the oldest of four boys born to Vera and Radford Brock in Jasper, Ala. He moved to Turlock, Calif., when he was 5 years old. He was a graduate of Turlock High School at the age of 16 years old. He moved back to Jasper with his grandparents after high school. At the age of 17 he started to drive trucks long haul for three years. In 1959 he signed up for the Merchant Marines. He sailed all over the world for 11 months. Then he came back to California and started driving trucks again.
In 1980 he married Linda Lee Gray. They raised three children together. They lived in Yuba City, Reno, Modesto and Merced. He retired in 2000 in Merced. In 2005 they moved to Fortuna. All thru his life he helped people in need, both family and strangers. His faith in God was strong and he lived by the Bible. He is survived by his wife Linda, and numerous children, and numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two grandchildren.
A viewing will be at Goble’s Funeral Home in Fortuna on December 28, 2019 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. December 28, 2019 at Sunrise Cemetery.
