Press release from the Eureka Police Department:
On November 2, 2019, a female suffering from an unknown medical condition was found in the alley at the 500 block of O Street. The female was transported to the hospital and was ultimately transferred to an out-of-the area care facility. A detective was assigned to the case due to the suspicious circumstances, though it was not confirmed an assault had occurred.
On December 29, 2019, the detective was notified that the female passed away in the out of the area care facility as a result of the incident. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday, January 4, 2020. This investigation has not been confirmed as criminal in nature; therefore, the female’s identity will not be released at this time.
