Fortuna Police Department release: 

Today, a Fortuna Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of a Fortuna Blvd. Upon contact, the officer contacted the driver Kurt Pfohl (age 58 of a Fortuna). While speaking with Pfohl, the officer observed what appeared to be a firearm in Pfohl’s lap. Pfohl was ordered out of the vehicle and the item was determined to be a pellet gun. Pfohl was found to be a convicted felon and was in possession of ammunition, blow darts and heroin.

Pfohl will be transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.
