Former Fortuna High standout Hailey Dolcini has wasted little time settling into life as Bulldog.

After transferring from UC Riverside to Fresno State this year, Dolcini got the new season off to a flying start this past weekend, earning Mountain West Conference Pitcher of the Week honors.

Dolcini was 1-0 at the Hawaii Paradise Classic, appearing in three games and starting two.

The Bulldogs went 3-2 at the tournament, rebounding from an opening loss to top-ranked UCLA with three straight wins on Thursday and Friday.

Dolcini started two of those three wins, including a 10-1 win over Georgia State on Friday, when she threw a seven-inning complete game, giving up just four hits and one earned run, while striking out seven and walking three.

For the tournament, the former four-time Big 5 MVP had an ERA of 1.87 and pitched a team-high 15 innings.

Dolcini struck out 11 batters while allowing just six walks and only two extra-base hits in her three appearances.

She was an NFCA All-Pacific Region selection as a freshman last season at UC Riverside, when she went 15-9 with a 1.80 ERA.

She was named Big West Pitcher of the Week twice as a Highlander.
