The Humboldt Roller Derby will hold an open scrimmage free of charge to the public on Thursday night.

The Valentines Day event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Redwood Acres and will feature some of the club’s newest skaters, with the North Jetty Bettys and Widowmakers battling for bragging rights.

As the club’s press release put it, “What could be more romantic than watching people bash each other around 8 wheels?”

The Humboldt Roller Derby will hold their second official game of the season on Feb. 23.
