Amanda Blake Markussen, 33, unexpectedly passed away on February 4, 2019, in Eureka.

Born on Saturday, February 15, 1985 in Hoopa to the late Sam Peters and Doreen Markussen, Amanda has gone on to meet the creator. A proud tribal member of the Hoopa Valley Tribe and a daughter, sister, mother, cousin and friend to many, she will be remembered and missed by all.

She was caring and loving and always there if you needed her. Always a good listener with such an awesome sense of humor. Independent and very outgoing. You could always count on having a good time with her, full of laughter. She is going to be greatly missed.

Amanda is survived by her mom, Doreen Markussen; her uncle Bud Markussen; her sister, Mardell Markussen; and her three kids — Brenton Markussen, Lil Sa-t’s Pedroza, Navaeh Pedroza. And also her cousin, Veronica Jones. And many more friends and family, too many to name.

Her viewing will be at Sanders Funeral Home in Eureka on Friday, Feb. 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
