The St. Bernard’s girls were handed a No. 1 seed on Sunday afternoon, as the brackets for this coming week’s NorCal tournaments were released.

The Crusaders, who won a fourth North Coast Section championship in five years on Saturday night, were awarded the top seed for Northern California in the Division-V bracket.

They will open at home on Tuesday against No. 16 Western Sierra out of the Sac-Joaquin Section.

Four other Humboldt-Del Norte League teams qualified for the NorCals, three of whom will also host first-round games on Tuesday.

The Eureka girls were given a No. 8 seed in Division III and will open at home against No. 9 Aragon.

The Fortuna boys, who have lost just twice all season, received a No. 7 seed in the Division-III bracket and will open at home against No. 10 Liberty Ranch.

The Hoopa Valley boys will play in the Division-V bracket, where they were seeded ninth and will open on the road against No. 8 Pierce out of the Northern Section.

And rounding out the local contingent, the Del Norte girls were given a No. 6 seed in Division II and will open at home to No. 11 Palo Alto.

The Palo Alto Vikings, who lost in the D-I Central Coast championship game, are 22-4 on the season.

Eureka’s opponent, Aragon, also plays in the Central Coast Section, where the Dons won the D-II title.

They come into the NorCals with a record of 17-11.

The Liberty Ranch boys, meanwhile, are 29-3 after losing to Sonora in the Sac-Joaquin Section D-IV championship.

Pierce comes into the Hoopa game with a record of 21-5, having lost in the Northern Section D-IV semifinals.

Interestingly, the Cloverdale girls, who were dominated by St. Bernard’s on Saturday night, received the No. 4 seed for NorCal in the same D-V bracket as the Crusaders.
