Former Humboldt State running back Ja’Quan Gardner continues to make a name for himself in the new Alliance of American Football league, providing the highlight of the weekend with an 83-yard TD run.
Gardner ran for more than 100 yards for the second straight week, helping the San Diego Fleet to a 31-11 win over the San Antonio Commanders on Sunday, and finishing the game with 122 yards on 12 carries.
Through three weeks, the former Lumberjack now has 281 yards on the ground, which is 93 yards more than the league’s second best running back.
The Fleet are 2-1.
