UPDATE from Humboldt CHP:
On [Saturday] 2-2-19, at approximately 0905 hours, CHP officers contacted 50-year-old Jared Meyer of Bridgeville, stopped in his vehicle on the shoulder of SR-36 near MPM [mile post marker] 32.
During the contact with Mr. Meyer, he admitted to having firearms in his possession. Upon inspection by the officers, it was determined one of two handguns located had been previously reported stolen. An unregistered AR-15, without the required items to make it featureless and legal in California, was also located, along with two 30 round high capacity magazines.
Additionally, officers located 2.5 grams of methamphetamine and a DMV records check determined Mr. Meyer was driving with a suspended license and the registration on the vehicle was expired. Officers discovered the vehicle also displayed false registration tabs.
Mr. Meyer was subsequently transported and booked into to the Humboldt County Jail.

Humboldt CHP:
[On Saturday], while patrolling on SR-36, one of our officers stopped to check on a vehicle.
While contacting the driver, the officer saw items indicating there may be firearms in the vehicle and the driver admitted that, in fact, there were.
Upon searching the vehicle, officers located two handguns, one of which was stolen, a converted AR-15 rifle with a fully loaded high capacity magazine, and 2.5 grams of methamphetamine. The driver went to jail and the guns are now out of the hands of the bad guys!
