The Fortuna Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program recently closed its Main Street office, and will reopen at the Fortuna Library on Monday, Feb. 4.

The Fortuna Library office will have limited hours and is expected to serve as a short-term solution until construction is completed on WIC’s new office in the next few months.

The Fortuna Library is located at 753 14th St. at the corner of 14th and N streets. The WIC office will be open Mondays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8 to 11:30 a.m.

WIC is a supplemental nutrition program for income-eligible pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding women, and for children under the age of 5 who have a nutritional need. WIC is a federally-funded program, administered by the California Department of Health Care Services.
