The Humboldt B52s and Humboldt Eagles 19U will play one more time to decide the summer series this coming week.

The two clubs, who originally had scheduled just two games between them this summer, announced this weekend that they will play for a fifth time on Monday at Bomber Field.

The added game will decide the summer series, which is currently tied at 2-2 after the Eagles’ dramatic 5-4 win last week.

It’s one of two games against veteran collegiate competition on deck this week for the Eagles, an American Legion squad made up mostly of local high school players.

On Tuesday night, the Eagles will head to the Arcata Ball Park to play the Humboldt Crabs in what is likely to be a thrilling occasion for the Legion players, most of whom have grown up watching the Crabs play.

The Crabs announced other changes in the schedule this weekend, including adding a fifth game with the B52s.

The Crabs took the opening two games of the summer series late last month, and the two teams are scheduled to play two more games at the end of this month, including a showdown at Bomber Field in Eureka.

The teams will also now meet on July 23 at the Arcata Ball Park after the Redding Colt 45’s pulled out of a two-game series that week.

The following night, the Crabs will play the Redding Ringtails instead.

Monday’s game at Bomber Field is set for 7:05 p.m., while Tuesday’s game at the Arcata Ball Park will start at 7 p.m.
