The Humboldt B52s scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning in a tight 7-6 showdown with NBO Baseball at Bomber Field in Eureka on Sunday afternoon.
Trailing 4-0 in a back and forth game, the B52s scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth, before the visitors came right back to tie things up again an inning later.
Tommy Castro got the win on the mound in relief of starter Luis Pimentel, pitching two hitless shutout innings.
Justin Smith pitched the final inning for the save.
At the plate, Tommy Gale led a nine-hit team performance with a pair of hits, while Braeden Holliday added a triple and three RBIs and Ethan Fischel a double.
With the win, the B52s improved to 20-9.
Next up, they play the Humboldt Eagles 19U American Legion team on Monday night at 6:05 p.m. at Bomber Field.
