Lawrence Ervin Potts
April 7, 1970 - July 19, 2019

Lawrence Ervin Potts, affectionately known as “Georgie Bear,” was born on April 7, 1970. He left to be with the Lord on July 19, 2019. He was 49 years old.

Lawrence was born to Walter Potts and Mary Green in Hoopa. Lawrence was a proud member of the Hoopa Valley Tribe. Lawrence started his education at Hoopa Elementary, later moving throughout California with his parents and siblings. Lawrence participated in sports, playing baseball, basketball and football throughout his childhood.

At the age of 19 Lawrence welcomed his first and only son Lawrence “Baby Oso” Potts to the family.

Lawrence will be forever missed for his witty personality and big contagious smile.

Lawrence is survived his mother, Mary Green, stepfather Harold Green, brother Howard O’Neill (Dayton and Preston), sister Deanna McKinnon and Ruben Sanders (Garrick, Kyrah, Andrew and Amanda), brother Lowell Potts (Aaron), Sister Leola O’Neill (Victoria Lawrence), brother Zachary and Gabrielle Potts (Zachary Jr. and Sequoia), brother Lester Potts, and sister Eloise Conrad. He is preceded in death by his father, Walter Potts, sister Loretta Potts, brother William “Joe” Lisenbee, grandparents Frank O’Neill, and Winona Martin, great-grandparents Chester and Gladys Davis. Lawrence also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
