The Northern Humboldt Steelheads 13U won their semifinal game at the USSSA World Series in San Diego on Sunday morning, before falling 3-2 to Akadema in the championship game.
The Steelheads closed out the tournament with an impressive record of 6-1, stretching their winning streak to 11 straight with an 11-1 win over the Junior Diamondbacks in the AA bracket on Sunday morning.
The USSSA World Series featured 132 teams competing in 10 brackets in eight age groups ranging from 8U to 16U.
Cedar Cline pitched a complete game for the win against the Diamondbacks, allowing just one hit and one walk.
At the plate, Jaden Lack had a triple, a double and two walks, while Matteo Copp had a pair of hits and drove in three runs.
The Steelheads stole seven bases in the win.
