It’s been a tough start to the season for the Humboldt Crabs and things don’t appear as if they’re going to get any easier for them this weekend.

On Friday night, the Crabs opened a three-game weekend stand with the San Luis Obispo Blues, and got blown out 13-1.

The loss was their seventh in nine home games this season and drops them to 4-7 overall.

The Blues were led at the plate by TJ Rumfield, who finished 3-for-5 with two RBIs, while Brady Lindsley had a home run.

The Crabs managed just three hits against five Blues pitchers combined, including a double by Riley Cleary.

After a scoreless couple of innings, the visitors took control of the game with six runs in the top of the third and led 12-0 after five.

The two teams will play a second game at the Arcata Ball Park on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
