Yikes! Close call on I-5 this morning: A logging truck overturned and dumped its load from an overpass onto the busy highway below. One log landed on the bed of a pickup truck narrowly missing the cab — the driver of the crushed vehicle suffered only minor injuries, amazingly. More in the Caltrans release below:

 

This morning a logging truck was driving east on McCardle Flat Road (Gable Overcrossing). The logging truck overturned which caused logs to come off the truck onto the southbound lanes of I-5. Logs struck a Toyota Tundra on S/B I-5. Luckily the driver of the Tundra has minor injuries and was transported to Mercy. The truck driver has no injuries. 

Caltrans District 2 is assisting with traffic control and helping us coordinate cleanup. Please expect delays as traffic lanes are reduced for recovery efforts.
