The victims in this mornings fatal collision have been identified as 42 year old James Cohee Jr. of Trinidad, 28 year old Chloe Chapman of Eureka and 32 year old Cody Behler of Arcata. Press release from the California Highway Patrol:

On 06/25/2019, at approximately 315 AM, the CHP Humboldt Area responded to a report of a vehicle collision on Patrick’s Point Drive, near the Larrupin Cafe. A caller reported a vehicle off the roadway and on fire. Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered a 1966 Chevrolet pickup which had traveled off the roadway, impacted an embankment, and ejected three occupants. Unfortunately, due to their injuries, all three occupants were pronounced deceased.

Identification of the occupants is pending notification of next of kin by the Humboldt County Coroner’s Office.

The cause of the collision is unknown at this time. The California Highway Patrol Humboldt Area is asking anyone with additional information regarding this collision to contact the Humboldt Area CHP Office at 707-822-5981 or to send an email to
