Damian Henderson hit a home run and a triple as the Humboldt Crabs had a big night at the plate in Redding in a 12-9 win over the Colt 45’s on Wednesday.
Henderson led a 13-hit performance with his two big blasts and the Crabs got their first win of the season.
Former Eureka High standout Aidan Morris continued his impressive start to the season, finishing 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI.
Bryce Kirk also had three hits, including a pair of doubles, and three RBIs, while Kyle Knell was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
The Crabs took control of a high-scoring game early, opening up a five-run lead before the home team got going with three runs in the bottom of the third.
The Crabs stretched the lead again in the top of the seventh with five more runs, before the Colt 45’s narrowed the gap late for a more flattering final score.
Tyler Condie got the win on the mound as one of four pitchers the Crabs utilized.
The two clubs will close out a two-game series on Thursday night, before the Crabs (1-3) return home to host the Seattle Studs at the Arcata Ball Park this weekend.
