Former Fortuna High standout Jevin Kitchen had a big showing at last weekend’s Big Sky Indoor Track and Field Championships in Bozeman, Montana.

Kitchen, who graduated Fortuna in 2017 and holds the school record in the high jump, is now a sophomore at Sac State and placed fourth in the high jump at big indoor meet.

The former Husky set a new personal best, clearing 6 feet, 9.75 inches on the third of three attempts at the height.

Kitchen has impressed since joining the Division-I program at the start of last season, placing fifth at the Big Sky Championships as a true freshman.

He has steadily continued to improve on his marks.

A three-time state qualifier, Kitchen was the North Coast Section champion in the high jump in both his junior and senior years, setting a school record of 6-8 along the way.
