The Humboldt Roller Derby will host their third event of the year at the Redwood Acres on Saturday night, with two more matches scheduled.

The opener will feature the home club’s B team, Root Force, taking on the Shasta Roller Derby, followed by the Redwood Rollers taking on the Oakland Outlaws.

The Redwood Rollers, HRD’s nationally-ranked charter team, won its last outing a month ago against the San Fernando Roller Derby.

Adding intrigue to this weekend’s showdown, Oakland’s Snakes Anna Plane used to compete for the local club before relocating to the Bay Area.

The night’s entertainment also features live music and local beverages (including beer), with doors opening at 5 p.m.

Tickets are $12 in advance ($15 at the door) and are available at Wildberries, The Works, STIL and People’s Records, or online at brownpapertickets.com.

Kids under 10 are free.

A portion of this weekend’s proceeds will go to Planned Parenthood of Northern California.
